In the best circumstances, an election offers us to choose and craft a better future for ourselves.
Several, milestones for the Indian diaspora in the US are being ticked off rapidly over the years as the Indian community has gone from strength to strength in terms of education, income, professional excellence, and influence. Hopefully in a landmark achievement yet to come, a bright, young Indian-American Democrat is poised to win a congressional seat in the heart of Valley, the Mecca of Technology that many Indians call their home.
I have stayed a steadfast supporter for Ro Khanna, the Indian-American son of an IIT engineer and a school teacher representing Silicon Valley through his good and rough days alike. The 17th district in which Ro has a 6 point lead encompasses the cities of Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Fremont, Newark, North San Jose, and Milpitas, is unique. It houses the whose and who of technology giants and possesses a heavy Asian American Majority. Indian American majority which has the wealthiest and richest immigrant populace in US, has played a pivotal role in establishing this country, a land of great oppurtunities. I wish RO all the best for his election.
